casa de la noche: All my interests come together in the role I stumbled into after purchasing a "renovation project" in a charming foreign town, San Miguel de Allende. The re-do building I'd found was a famous (notorious) old bordello, called Cass de la Turca. As I took on the challenge to invent a new space and purpose for this old place, I changed the name to Casa de la Noche (House of the Night) and also took on the fun role of Madam Turca, the nic name of the former owner, known for hospitality, fairness, entrepreneurism. Instead of business by-the-hour, we started a by-the-night, week, and month endeavor, and turned Casa de la Noche into the popular boutique style Bed and Breakfast it is now. Along the way, there have been many surprises, satisfactions, and frustrations, but always variety and I still wake every morning hopeful for the day ahead. Hospitality, as it turns out, is in my bones.
